1. Do I need to have my income assessed if I’m applying for a Student Loan for Fees?
No. Student loans for fees do not require an income assessment. If you are however applying for a Student Loan for Maintenance as well, then your income will need to be assessed.
2. I am an EU national. Someone told me that I’m eligible for financial help from the UK government. Is this true?
Yes. The UK government gives financial help for tuition fees to EU Nationals. You can also be eligible for financial help for living expenses but only if you have been staying in the UK for three years or more prior the start of you course and your course is qualified. Same goes for EEA and Switzerland migrant workers.
3. What is Student Finance Direct?
It is the portal used by the UK government wherein students can obtain information as well as apply for their student loans.
4. What is the ART ID?
It is a unique account number you will need every time you login to your online Student Finance Direct account or if you contact them by phone to be able to access your personal student finance account.
5. What is an ALIAS ID?
It is the identification used by a student’s sponsor, which includes the student’s parents, partner, or spouse, to be able to link to the student’s online application so they can fill up their portion of the application form. Sponsors without an ALIAS ID cannot access the student’s information.
